Bartending enables building a tavern, which allows players to accept quests.
Quests cannot be accepted until Trade Contacts has been researched, which allows for Trade Quests. Diplomatic Contacts must also be researched before Diplomatic Quests can be done.
There are no prerequisites for researching Bartending.
