A Trader is a trade unit that is used to interact with faction trade hubs. Having a Trader present at a faction hub allows players to make buy and sell offers from that hub.

Use

A Trader is not needed to store resources at a hub, but if a Trader and caravans are not present at the hub, resources can't be sent back to the player's towns or other trade hubs.

In order to place buy and sell orders in a faction hub, you will need to have a Trader present and research Procurement and Selling and have a Trade Office, and further research after those to allow for more offers to be made.

Economics

Traders also require wine to make, the first trader made doesn't require wine, but any traders made after that point will take more wine each time.

Trader production time can be reduced by having higher level merchant's guilds, and their gold p/h cost can also be reduced by researching Traders' LuxuriesExpense AccountsExpense Controls
