You won’t believe what you see…just look at all the photos your Grandmom or Mom had lying around. Personally, I have a photo of a newly wed couple from 1911 in my china cabinet. I don’t know who it is.
It has their names on it, but I don’t know where they are in the family tree. It’s just cool. It was so formal and stiff back then…surely it is different from how we take natural photos today. Many photos will capture me smiling or laughing.

There have been many times that I noticed something in a photograph, and you probably have too, if you take the time to think about it. Sometimes it’s a look on the face of a child or a hug from a loved one. Or something that is lost forever if I didn’t capture it in that moment.
It doesn’t matter if it’s the child saying, “Puhleese! I’m so sick of you taking those stupid photos!” or the lover feeling that “connectedness”, they are both conveyed for all eternity. Captured…never lose.

You can’t really focus on this all-consuming problem if you instead look at the petals of flowers, the wings of butterflies, or the smiles of a baby. Take your blood pressure before and during the 30 minute focus on the perfect picture. It will be amazing how much the difference makes.
For better overall health, rinse the tub and do it again. It’s okay, the problem will not go away. When you are ready to worry again, it will still be there. (Hint: Even imperfect photos can still be beautiful.
Photography can inspire your imagination.
My sister is a professional photographer. Her creativity when taking photos of children is what drove her slowly towards a career in photography. She is a natural photographer and loves to recreate such unique poses, like a newborn suspended from the sky in a net. She loves to take a couple and create romantic ways to show their love. This has encouraged my creativity and I will help her to come up with (hopefully, somewhat original) ventures. One day, I was walking along a road that had many random cracks. The sun was behind me, casting my shadow in front. As we were discussing how to capture this couple, I mentioned the cracks around them (symbolizing all of life), but when it came down to their shadows, they were solid. In other words, the cracks began outside their bodies. It showed how strong the union was and how life could not “crack” them.
Anyone who has a passion for photography can make it a career.
Photographers make a good living. Think about it. Every picture you have ever seen was taken by someone. There are many schools, classes and books that can help you learn more than I could. You have your entire life ahead of you. You can also consider a side-job or part-time job.
Photography can be a great way to boost self-esteem.
My 14-year-old daughter loves taking pictures of her friends. They turn out great! She is in seventh heaven when she downloads the photos and can see them on her computer. She also loves to share them with her friends. She’s also very photogenic, which is a huge self-esteem booster.
Photography can help you connect to your natural spirituality.
Take a look around at all the beauty of nature. You can’t help but feel the beauty around you, regardless of whether you believe in God. It’s impossible to help but feel small when you realize how vast the world around you.
Photography allows you to see things you might not otherwise notice.
I cannot see every aspect of something when I look at it. A beautiful sunset can only last so much time, and I might not see all the details of the colors on the water because I live in a beach area. The sun’s lowering effect on the earth can also affect the appearance of the sand, which is a very simple thing. These are all more obvious in a photograph and I can focus on the overall view while being aware that each component will not disappear forever.
Photography can help preserve and revive memories.
Consider the spouse or husband who has lost their spouse. The child who has lost a parent. They can not only remember the face of their parent, but they can also recall (many times) what was happening at the time that photo was taken. This cements the memory for life.
